COURSE OBJECTIVE: 

At the end of the course, delegates will:

  • Understand the PUWER regulations and how they apply to them

  • Understand how the regulations apply to workplace equipment​

  • Be aware of the documentation required to support PUWER

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

Delegates should have a basic level of understanding health and safety. An understanding of mechanical or electrical disciplines is advantageous.

Content

Through the training we look at how PUWER affects you and your organisation, the regulations and discuss their scope and how they apply.

 

The course looks at regulations 1-24. The following regulations are looked at in greater depth to ensure delegates have a thorough understanding. 

  • Maintenance

  • Inspection

  • Instructions

  • Training

  • Dangerous parts of equipment and machinery

  • Emergency stops

  • Control systems

  • Isolation

  • Marking and warnings

Covers regulation 25-30 for mobile work equipment, but not power presses.
